After signing up as a Traveler, you can create requests for the help you need. Start by clicking the "Create New Request" button on the home screen, or by clicking the "Create New Request" button at the very top of the "Request List" tab.

When creating a new help request, it's best to write in detail so that local residents can quickly understand your current situation and what kind of help you need. You can increase interest from local residents by clearly stating the amount you are willing to pay for the help right at the very beginning of your post. It is recommended to state the help amount in Korean Won (KRW) to make the exchange convenient for everyone. While you can negotiate and pay in person using any method that works for both of you, we anticipate that cash will be the most convenient method for you as a traveler.

The type of help doesn't matter. From emergencies to simple guides, transportation to another area, or even finding friends to hang out with—request everything you need on HeyLocal. Local residents who are interested will see your posted request and start a 1:1 chat with you.

Example 1 of a New Help Request) KRW 20,000. Please help me explore a traditional market and buy good souvenirs at a reasonable price.

Example 2 of a New Help Request) Price Negotiable. I urgently need to go to a nearby hospital as I think the emergency room will be expensive, but I have trouble communicating. I'm looking for someone to accompany me and correctly explain my situation.

Example 3 of a New Help Request) I want to travel to Gangwon-do but lack information. I'm looking for a local resident to join my itinerary once I arrive in Gangwon-do. Even just help with transportation would be great.

What else can I do?

On the Map tab, you can view a list of local residents registered based on the area. If you're interested in what a local resident has written about their neighborhood, you can start a 1:1 conversation directly with them.

In the 1:1 chat you've started, you can freely check detailed information, negotiate the activity fee for the help, and confirm the appointment with the traveler. Within the 1:1 chat, you'll see confirmation messages generated for each stage of the progress. Please check and update your status according to the current progress.

In the 1:1 chat, you can click the translation icon attached to each message bubble to see only that message translated.

It's crucial to click the "Confirmation Message" button for each stage of the progress and update the status. This is the only way for both parties to leave a review and rating at the final stage. Reviews are important for the safety of the HeyLocal community and to encourage more active matches in the future. Please write your review to be helpful to the next traveler.
